At Merrylands Nursery we aim to provide the highest quality care and education for all the children thereby giving them a strong foundation for their future learning.
We plan an exciting and challenging curriculum based on our observations of all of the children’s needs, interests and developments across the seven areas of learning. This allows the children to achieve and exceed the Early Learning Goals (ELGs). All seven areas of learning and development are important and are interconnected.
We use play as a vehicle for learning and provide opportunities for children to engage in activities that are both adult-initiated and child-initiated, supported by an adult.
We have a’ Key Person’ approach to develop close relationships with individual children in a safe a secure learning environment inside and out. Children have whole group and small group times with times for letters and sounds and teaching aspects of mathematics and literacy using a play based approach.
All children are entitled to 15 hours free childcare the term after they turn three years old. Staff at the Nursery can help you in claiming this funding.
